On Friday, Jan. 31, The University of Tampa’s Student Productions revealed that Quinn XCII and Daya will perform at the annual spring Party in the Park. The concert will be held on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in Plant Park on UT’s campus.
Quinn XCII, an American singer and songwriter from Detroit, Michigan, is known for his two albums The Story of Us and From Michigan with Love. His music is classified as pop, hip hop, reggae and EDM. Quinn XCII’s singles “Straightjacket” and “Slow” have also made top Billboard charts in the last three years.
Daya will join Quinn XCII on stage for Party in the Park. Her music is classified as pop, synthpop and electronic. The American singer and songwriter from Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, has released an EP titled Daya and an album titled Sit Still, Look Pretty. Her song “Hide Away” peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 2015.
In 2016, Daya won the Best Artist and Song of the Year Awards at the Radio Disney Music Awards. She also won the Top Selling Song, Top Radio Song and Top Collaboration Awards at the Billboard Music Awards in 2017.
Party in the Park is free for UT students. Students must show their student ID and a registered ticket, which students can sign up for at utampatickets.com, in order to access the concert. Tickets are $30 for outside guests and students are limited to one guest each.
