The Minaret has since learned that Laro fabricated much of her story about the missing soldier. Her brother, who was actually in the U.S. while Bree was completing a series of interviews, has stepped forward to say he was never missing.

As I was flipping through the latest issue of Elle magazine, I began to realize that the Sunshine State may have its slight disadvantages pertaining to back to school shopping. A University of Tampa junior died Tuesday night in a St. Petersburg motorcycle accident. Nicholas Kopplin, a junior International Business major from Overland, Mo., reportedly lost control of his Kawasaki motorcycle near the 31st Street exit on I-275. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Kopplin was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his bike and slammed into a guardrail.
