Student Source Fabricated “Missing” Brother’s War Story

The Minaret's last issue of the year featured a poignant story about the missing brother of UT student Bree Laro. The Minaret has since learned that Laro fabricated much of her story about the missing soldier. Her brother, who was actually in the U.S. while Bree was completing a series of interviews, has stepped forward to say he was never missing.

Just Tragic: Junior Killed in Motorcycle Accident

A University of Tampa junior died Tuesday night in a St. Petersburg motorcycle accident. Nicholas Kopplin, a junior International Business major from Overland, Mo., reportedly lost control of his Kawasaki motorcycle near the 31st Street exit on I-275. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Kopplin was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his bike and slammed into a guardrail.
