The University of Tampa will host its annual Family Weekend Friday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 6 this year. The event will showcase the campus community and surrounding areas through an array of events and programs for the whole family. Featured events include live music and food celebrating Tampa's cultural heritage, the annual UT golf tournament, a lunch cruise on Tampa Bay's premier dining yacht, women's volleyball games and even a climb to the top of Plant Hall's minarets.

For the women's soccer team, the 2006 season ended a game too early. After an 18-2-1 season, the Spartans fell to eighth-ranked Grand Valley State (Mich.) in the National Semifinal. The 2-0 loss left Tampa one win shy of the National Championship game. There was a familiar face in the other semifinal game that week.

Four offices in Plant Hall and one classroom in the science wing were broken into earlier this week (April 7-9). Two portable hard drives and a battery back-up were taken from the office of the Tampa Press, but the battery unit was found discarded in a Plant Hallway.

Ever since "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" was released on the Xbox, I've been an avid fan of the series. The game seemed so revolutionary for the somewhat dead golf genre. Being a golfer myself, I fell in love with the game immediately. Many a night I spent with friends improving my chip shot or perfecting my putting.
