UT Latest School to Receive E-mailed Bomb Threats

After four e-mailed bomb threats were received by UT's admissions office this morning, campus security officials decided not to evacuate campus. The FBI and Tampa Police are helping in the investigation. TPD and Princeton University security officials were a factor in the decision, said security director Charles Mascenik, who knows the Princeton police chief who dealt with similar threats on his campus.

Accounting Professor Arrested For Grand Theft

A UT accounting professor was arrested last night and charged with stealing more than $107,000 from the American Spaniel Club. The money was stolen to feed a gambling habit, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. Professor Barbara Lippincott, 54, was arrested around 10:30 last night and charged with grand theft. According to Doug Tobin, a spokesperson for the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Lippincott made 71 checks, totaling $107,099.39, payable to her personal Bank of America checking account, even though she was supposed to be a non-paid volunteer.

RHA Hosts “Town Hall” Style Meeting

RHA hosted a meeting in Brevard Hall last Tuesday in order to discuss with students new campus policies, including the changes to Article 9 of the Student Code of Conduct. After a brief introduction by RHA president Adam Blattner, students were able to ask questions in a town-hall style format, with the floor open to all in attendance.
