Those Who Knew Slain Sophomore Have More Questions Than Answers

Late Saturday night, Jason Eggert decided to leave a note for the 19-year-old roommate he had found beaten, stabbed and strangled to death just two nights before. He went to the Facebook page created to remember Samantha "Samy" MacQuilliam and wrote, "I got your bottle of Riesling off the top of the cabinet and put a sun colored rose in it. I'm so sorry, Samy, I wish i could have done something to help you." His simple late-night sentiment echoed those of dozens of relatives, professors and friends, some of whom knew about the abuse MacQuilliam had endured but most of whom had no clue. Although investigators were still processing evidence in the Palm Harbor home Friday, Eggert was allowed to retrieve MacQuilliam's tail-wagging Valentine. On Feb. 14, the stray puppy trotted up to the home shared by MacQuilliam and Matthew R. Dieterle, the man who within six months would be charged with her murder. Police say only that puppy (more)

Freshmen to Undergo Online Alcohol Education

FILM REVIEW: ‘Bourne Ultimatum’ action-packed, dizzying

Spurrier sounds off after two South Carolina recruits denied admission

(U-WIRE) COLUMBIA, S.C. - South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier made it clear Sunday that he wants to see some changes at USC regarding the university's admissions policy. The NCAA Clearinghouse approved two signees from South Carolina's highly touted 2007 recruiting class, but the university denied them admittance.

New Women’s Soccer Coach Prepares for 2007 Season

After a short hiatus from the University of Tampa, Gerry Lucey has returned to coach the women's soccer team. Lucey leaves West Chester University (Pa.) after posting a 23-1 record. The only loss came in double overtime against Metro State University (Co.) in the Final Four.

Student Adds Charges to UT Lawsuit

The student suing the University of Tampa over plagiarism charges added three counts to her suit after UT filed documents that included her name. The student now accuses UT and its legal counsel of invasion of privacy by unlawfully releasing her private records.
