Students recently discovered GOP hopeful John McCain, who won the Florida majority vote, hosted a National Security Roundtable on Friday, January 25, 2008 in Plant Hall. Some students praised the spotlight McCain brought to our campus. 'Having an American hero and political figure on our campus launches familiarity of politics and world issues for many students,' said Katrina Castillo, Chairwomen of UT College Republicans.

I definitely felt safer two years ago at UT. Walking late at night alone never crossed my mind as being unsafe, said Ali Mathe. On April 17, the induction of the new Student Government Executive board will take place, and Mathe is focusing on student's safety.

The University of Tampa has spoken. More precisely, 1,277 Spartans have spoken, and it appeared early Friday morning that Ali Mathe and Tom McKissock will serve as UT's president and vice president, respectively, next year. Experience may have helped the winners in this race.
