William King, a 23-year-old University of Tampa' student, passed away at Tampa General Hospital' after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday afternoon.

'It's just so unfortunate that this happened,' Dean of Students' Bob Ruday said. 'Here we lost a graduating senior.'

Ruday said that both parents arrived at the hospital and are spending time with King.

'Our deepest sympathies go out to the family,' Ruday said.

A University of Tampa student was rushed to the hospital yesterday after being involved in a motorcycle accident. He has died from his injuries.

Student Government is currently planning a campus-wide vigil service for later in the week.

If there's anything I learned about the Super Bowl's Media Day, it's to be aggressive.' Among roughly a thousand members of the international press, a shy reporter seeking that perfect soundbite from Ben Roethlisberger or Kurt Warner just couldn't survive.

When looking from the stands, below I saw a frenzy of cameras, cables and oversized backpacks being hauled from one player to another.

P.E.A.C.E. Office Preps for Double Shift of Service

Spring break is just around the corner, which means volunteer time for UT's P.E.A.C.E.

This is the first year that the organization offered two service trips. The sites are Waveland, Miss. and Maryville, Tenn.

But the work done will not be the same at both sites.

Live from Plant Park: CNN Sports to Broadcast on Campus

UT will be one of the many faces of the Super Bowl, as CNN Sports broadcasts live from Plant Park next week.

Eric Cardenas, UT director of public information said this event will be great publicity for the university.

'We're excited. We are pleased when we can help the media cover an event,' he said.
CNN Sports is scheduled to set-up on Jan. 26 and broadcast from the 27th through the 31st between 6 a.m. and midnight.'

One Year Later: UT Dining Inspections Improve

Sodexo's UT dining services have seen a significant improvement in their health inspection grades after a startling increase in critical violations in the first half of 2007.

In recent years, the number of 'critical' health violations at UT's Dining Services had skyrocketed in comparison to previous reports. In 2005 and 2006, the Florida State Health Commission inspected on-campus dining and found only two critical violations in each year.

However, these transgressions paled in comparison to the findings of an inspection in January 2007, in which 10 critical violations were issued. Another inspection last June revealed nine critical violations.

UT Alumna Reports Sports to Local Texans

Being a sports reporter was a no-brainer for Jessica Moran. This former University of Tampa soccer player knew she wanted to work in sports while at school. She lives out her love of the game everyday as a sports anchor at KDBC in El Paso, Texas.

This UT alumna first got her inspiration for sports broadcasting while studying and playing soccer at UT.

'My whole life I played sports so I had a good idea that something sports related was what I wanted to do,' Moran said.

UT Prepares for 125th Commencement

Another semester has come and gone at UT, but for some students, a new chapter in their lives will begin.

On Saturday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m., UT will hold its 125th commencement at the Bob Martinez Sports Center.

There will be 392 undergraduate and graduate students wearing their black caps and gowns.

Two speakers will present at the commencement.
