Cadet Wins Award

After all the sweat, blood and tears that the ROTC program has provoked, one student's hard work has not gone unnoticed. Daniel Gazzano, a 30-year-old University of Tampa senior cadet, recently won the annual George C. Marshall award. Gazzano, a former Sergeant First Class (E-7) non-commissioned officer, decided to come back to college to finish his degree and receive his commission.

This October, P.E.A.C.E. will offer UT students a chance to get wild somewhere besides Ybor with a trip to Tampa's Croc Encounters. The trip is a chance for students to earn volunteer hours in an exhilarating way. Open since 2006, Croc Encounters provides 22 acres of natural wetlands and a home to alligators, crocodiles, native birds, lizards, turtles, snakes and other critters.
