A student was physically assaulted on-campus by an unknown suspect early Tuesday morning, according to a global message safety alert.

According to the alert sent to the University of Tampa community Tuesday afternoon, a female student was walking between the intramural field and the Sykes Chapel construction area at 3:40 a.m. when she was assaulted by an unidentified white male.

The alert described the suspect as 18 to 22 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall.

The suspect was wearing a dark blue baseball cap, a white soccer jersey and stonewashed blue jeans.
