By Andrew Learned running for President …

Student Government is not doing nearly enough. Rather than be the voice for student concerns SG has instead been distracted. We can, and we should, be so much more. However, due to sheer cowardice of leadership we have become subject to a host of our administration's remarkably bad policies.

Letter to the Editor

By Letter to the Editor

I found myself disturbed after reading your recent article 'False Alarms Burn Out Students.' I am a resident of Stadium and was present for the fire drill mentioned and was most likely a participant in the suggested cavalier behavior. Your article did an excellent job of placing the students in bad light, yet failed to pick up on the school's complete failure at a fire drill.

An Alum and Former RA Responds to “Doing Hard Lines”

By An Alum and Former RA Responds to “Doing Hard Lines”

This punishment went too far. I understand that being an RA is difficult, and believe me when I say I've been there in the worst of times. I've been there when students tried to commit suicide and had more drunken people bang down my door than I can count.

Editorial Pick: Dutka ‘ Davis

By Editorial Pick: Dutka ‘ Davis

The Minaret would like to formally endorse Stephanie Dutka and Daniel Davis for president and vice president of Student Government. As is our policy, the endorsement comes as a result of a secret ballot taken among the editorial board of the staff. Making their decision, many of our staff members expressed regret that they had to base it solely off one speech from each candidate, along with a few background questions and answers that are posted on our website.

Cooking in the Dorm: Miso-Marinated Mushrooms

By Cooking in the Dorm: Miso-Marinated Mushrooms

Japanese food holds the answer to every problem in life. The Japanese harness the properties of longevity through fish and effortlessly maintain a slim, healthy weight drinking loads of green tea. It's a common wonder why there isn't more Japanese take out when the food is just as healthy, flavorful and contains a lot less MSG than popular mu shu fried pork (don't try and fool yourself, you know its in there).
