(This article is in reference to USF's Sun Bowl bid) This isn't fair. Seriously. I want a football team. I don't want to adopt USF or UF as my team. I want somewhere to go on Saturday afternoons to scream and yell with 65,000 other people. Volleyball, baseball, basketball and the rest of UT's sports are great.

As the fall semester draws to a close, most UT students are looking forward to winter holidays. One of the most popular is Christmas, of which I'm sure you've heard. Recently, right-wing pundits have blown a lot of hot air claiming there is a politically correct conspiracy to destroy Christmas by failing to acknowledge it loudly and repeatedly in every street, checkout line, movie theater, public bath, chicken coop and nudist colony from sea to shining sea.
A few weeks ago, I happened upon a news article revealing mall Santas in Australia are prohibited from greeting shoppers with the traditional "ho ho ho," replacing it with "ha ha ha," citing the phrase may be offensive to women. Most would agree that the mandate is utterly ludicrous; there is nothing obscene or derogatory behind Father Christmas' familiar laugh.
For the fourth year in a row, Campus MovieFest will be returning to the University of Tampa. Registration begins Dec. 1 and runs through Jan. 31. Last year's CMF included over sixty teams, with between 3 and ten people in each team. Close to 600 people packed the Vaughn Center Courtyard to watch the finale, along with the finalists' films.
The UT chapter of the Tampa Bay Associaton of Environmental Professionals (TBAEP) has started planning their Focus the Nation event, which will take place on college campuses all around the country on Jan. 31, 2008.
