As most students slept on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 29, University of Tampa freshman Natasha Sackett fought for her life after a car hit her scooter on Kennedy Boulevard in front of UT. Now four months after her accident, Sackett is still battling. The accident left her with two severe breaks in one leg, a brain injury, substantial facial fractures and a lacerated liver.

Microsoft's Windows Vista offers the first significant upgrade to the Windows OS since XP in October 2001. "Basically, [it's a] new version of MS OS to replace XP. Recently, students majoring in Secondary Education took a trip to Lowry Park Zoo in order to "familiarize themselves with local educational resources," according to Department of Education Co-Chair Dr. Theoni Soublis Smyth. The University of Tampa Spartans (15-13, 7-9) made a season-high 12 three-pointers, but fell to the Nova Southeastern Sharks 73-64 Saturday afternoon in Tampa. The Sharks (13-14, 8-8) were led by forward/guard Diego Aguiar's 22 points, 15 of which came in the second half.

Yeah, just a little too fast there. At 11:22 a.m. on Feb. 12, Security observed a vehicle moving at a high rate of speed in the West Parking Garage trying to slow down as it approached the speed bump. The vehicle went over the speed bump, and the right front tire disengaged from the axle, causing the vehicle to stop abruptly.

The University of Tampa women's basketball team won their eighth straight game, then had their streak broken two days later this past week. The Lady Spartans dominated the boards last Tuesday night as they defeated rival Florida Southern 80-69 in front on 143 fans inside the Bob Martinez Center.
