Dear Ruth, If you are already in a relationship, what do you do about an ex-boyfriend that you were extremely in love with when they try to win you back?

Relationships can be really hard to navigate through when you are torn between two people that you love or have loved. However, to make your decision, you have to ask yourself a few questions. First of all, are you happy with your current relationship? Did your previous relationship end on good or bad terms? Has he changed at all since you two broke up? If you answered yes to the first question, bad to the second and no to the third, then it is quite obvious what your decision should be. However, not many of us ladies see it that way. Therefore, here are some points to consider: If you are in fact falling in love with your current boyfriend, avoid complicating things; also, it is clear that if your previous relationship ended on bad terms, then it would be like relationship suicide for you to enter back into the same situation again (remember you left for a reason, why would you want to go back?).

Love should not be the reason you go back to a relationship because love is blind and for that reason you will never know for sure if one person is the right one for you. However, I am not a firm believer in second chances, and quite frankly, once they have had their chance, it’s on to the next ball game.

Dear Ruth, How can you tell when a guy is interested in you?

Guys are a peculiar set of animals. There are so many different personalities that it is hard to depict which one fits that particular guy. However, there are some actions that are pretty much the same in every male when they are attracted to you. Notice the way that they treat you compared to anyone else. Whether they are treating you poorly or treating you like a queen, they all have their way of focusing more on you. Also, watch the way they act around you. Some act more macho, goofy, nervous or even more romantic when they are with you. It would be very easy if men in general would just be bold and come out and say that they like you (some do); however, it is very rare that you find one that does. For all you know he could be trying to see if you have any bit of interest in him before he makes a move. So don’t be afraid to smile with him and flirt a little (not too much because then you would look easy) and let him see that he might have a chance.

Dear Ruth, What should you do if your best friend dumps you for a new best friend?

Ever heard the saying friends come and friends go, but best friends stick to the end? On that note, you probably weren’t her best friend if she dumped you like that. Clearly you shouldn’t waste your time worrying about someone who obviously isn’t worrying about you or your feelings.
